Flasher 600 build review

This is a review of Flasher 600

Flasher 600 comes with body kit which resemble popular Trex600 nitro and also 52 size engine which seems a copy of OS hyper with some differences. The kit it full frame 2mm CF but the boom is aluminum. Painted FG canopy and also CNC head and tail section. However the tail blade holder is made from plastic. Price is arround RM1750 (kit+engine).

The only difference with trex600 is the swashplate antirotation system which on Flasher appear integrated with the elevator systems. However it can also use the trex600 antirotation system. No modification required.

The assembly is straigth forward. The rotorhead and tail system has been fully assembled at factory. So less work here. But be sure to check all the linkage and metal to metal contact for threadlock.

Red and yellow stipe FG canopy. I put silicon tube arround the canopy edge to make it more durable. FG easy to break so this is some kind of enhancement towards the canopy.

Tail section with plastic tail blade holder. Flasher 600 also employ torque tube system just like Trex600.

two pieces CF frame.

Take note on the main bearing facing. Make sure the upper and lower bearing in correct orientation. If not the main bearing holder will damage hitting the mainshaft stopper. This can damage the bearing and the stopper.

52 Size Engine. Still in the tuning and breaking phase. I need to ask Ilham/cikgu to tune my engine. Still have some problem with idling. Half throttle the engine start to bog due to incorrect idling timing.

Comes with CF blades and shiny muffler.

Finish and ready for maiden.

I'm using the following setup.
1.Cyclic servos : 3 x Align DS610 digital servo
2. Rudder servo: 1 x Align DS620 digital servo (require to step down the voltage to 5.1v since I'm using Align regulator (the output is 5.8v)
3. KDS800 gyro
4. Towerpro MG995 as throttle servo.
5. Rapicon 15% nitro.

note: you can build your own step down by using 2 unit of 3A one way diode. Solder this diode to red wire on servo extension cable. Heatshink and properly check the output voltage from the servo. This is very important since several digital servo cannot support 6v operation and may burn the servo. Use the step down between servo rudder and gyro. Make sure the diode input and output is correct.
